Gardener's World - Overcoming Difficulties
I love the UK show ‘Gardener’s World’ and its host Monty Don. I subscribe to an additional channel on Amazon Prime just so I can the show legally. It’s great that they are on during the pandemic because they are being frank about the difficulties of the lock down while celebrating the joy of gardening.
Current episodes use appropriate social distancing and they show segments that were produced before the virus. The current segments talk are garden therapy sessions, and the pre-virus segments remind me that things will get better.
I love Monty Don, who has hosted the show for years, and I love his three dogs. My family just got a new puppy, and I am looking forward to him being my garden companion. Monty has two golden retrievers and last week he introduced his newest dog. My daughter, who is not a gardener, will watch with me just to see Monty’s dogs.
Unfortunately, Mr. Don will soon retire and his dogs will retire with him. It seems another presenter on the show, Adam Frost, will replace him. Adam Frost is one of my favorite GW presenters, and he has been an alternate host this season.
I like his gardening and design philosophies, and pleasant voice and manner. I was feeling pretty good about the transition, but this season I found that there is a serious problem. I hope I can reconcile myself to this flaw, and I am will try to not let it ruin my GW experience. Mr. Frost is…
